Greetings, Hamilton County residents! 

I’m Jodi Schaffer, a passionate advocate for education and community well-being. As a Chattanooga native, I graduated from East Ridge High School, where my love for sports and music flourished as a member of Lady Pioneer Basketball and All-State Chorus. After earning my undergraduate degree from Lee University School of Business and traveling with the Lee University Singers, I pursued my legal education at Florida Coastal School of Law, becoming licensed to practice law in Tennessee in 2008.

Professionally, my husband Darald Schaffer and I are law partners at Samples, Jennings, Clem & Fields, PLLC, where I specialize in estate planning, elder law, conservatorships, guardianships, and probate and estate administration. Darald is highly skilled and experienced in representing businesses and business owners in litigation matters, mergers and acquisitions, and other transactional matters that businesses frequently encounter. He also represents several local and regional businesses as general counsel..

As parents to three beautiful children, our commitment to education is personal. Our school-aged kids attend Westview Elementary School in District 7, and our youngest is at Jungle Town Early Childhood Education Center.

Community is at the heart of our values. Actively involved at The Crossing Church Chattanooga, where my parents served as senior pastors, we understand the transformative power of community engagement. My husband and I serve on the worship team and believe in the importance of ministry beyond the pulpit, echoing through our daily lives and contributions to the family home, the marketplace, and the wider community.

I lead a small group of praying mothers, gathering monthly to uplift our children and the community in prayer. I am dedicated to fostering an inclusive and responsive education system, where parents’ voices are heard and considered.
